The one item you never see in any of the so called, "Navy Seal" survival kits is the Magnet Compass. This is a crude navigation device, not meant for precision, but for general direction finding in an Emergency. Also the size lends itself well for concealment. Broken up into its individual parts it doesn't even look like a compass. For that matter put together it doesn't look like a compass.

Pace Counting Beads
  Great for keeping track of how far you have gone while counting your pace. These are smaller than most and there for also weigh less. Ounces equals pounds and pounds equal pain. That said since these are smaller they may not be easy to manipulate with gloves on. On the Left are regular length Pace Counters, which at the moment only come  with Black Beads.
